Microsoft is bringing a long-awaited feature to iPhone users—seamless phone integration within the Windows Start menu. Previously an Android-exclusive, this update allows iPhone users to check messages, calls, and battery status directly from their PC, eliminating the need to open the Phone Link app.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Microsoft is expanding its Start menu phone integration to iPhones, allowing users to view text messages, answer calls, and check recent activities directly from their PC. However, opening the Phone Link app is still required for more advanced data.
To use this feature, your PC must have Phone Link version 1.24121.30.0 or higher, support Bluetooth LE, and be signed in with a Microsoft account. Remember that this functionality is not available on PCs running Pro Education or Education SKUs.
iPhone users can now experience a more seamless connection with Windows 11—without needing third-party tools or workarounds.
Recently, Microsoft confirmed that Windows Insider beta testers are already experiencing these enhancements, which have been available to Android users since October. The update also introduces a “Send files” button for both Android and iPhone, simplifying file transfers without the hassle of third-party apps or iCloud.
To access these features, users need an iPhone running iOS 16 or later, the Phone Link app on both devices and enrollment in the Windows Insider program. The rollout is gradual, so availability may vary. Check if you have access by navigating to Settings > Personalization > Start in Windows 11.
