Role Overview
The Sales Director for the US Destinations West role drives sales and is responsible for developing, growing, and managing a digital advertising business for Destinations, Attractions, and Airports accounts in the Pacific Northwest & Canada region. Depending on Sojern’s presence within the assigned region or vertical, the Sales Director will define and lead the go-to-market strategy and/or support retention of Sojern’s existing client base while also developing and acquiring new clients across the region. Clients may include major tourism boards, attractions, airports, and co-op stakeholders.Â
Responsibilities in this Role
- Define and lead go-to-market strategies to acquire and develop new strategic clients across the West Coast within the Destinations, Attractions, and Airports verticals
- Develop, maintain, and grow an individual book of business and team book of business
- Independently create and deliver persuasive presentations that educate the market and demonstrate Sojern’s value proposition at industry events and conferences
- Work with other sellers and internal collaborators and be able to share and learn new sales techniques and industry best practices
- Effectively collaborate cross-functionally with commercial sales, client success team and product teams to develop relevant advertising programs for key clients, targets and their agencies
- Be the Subject Matter Expert on their region/vertical and able to internally present on metrics and sales strategy for their region/vertical when requested
- Be able to maintain and grow a large book of business and have deep sales strategy conversations with any of Sojern’s clients
- Meet and exceed aggressive and growing sales targets on a quarterly basis
- Maintain Salesforce CRM database and keep client activity organized
Required Qualification/Experience
- 5+ years overall sales experience in digital and programmatic advertising and/or travel vertical sales
- Proficiency in standard business and sales software, including Salesforce, Gsuite, and Office products
- Ability to build sales plans and RFP responses
- A fundamental understanding of the programmatic ecosystem
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Travel Required – 30-50%
