We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse (General) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in a dynamic healthcare setting. This role requires a compassionate and professional female nurse who has been registered with the NMC in the UK for a minimum of five years. The successful candidate will work 12.5-hour day and night shifts on a rotational basis, covering a 50.5-hour week.

This position involves delivering comprehensive nursing care to individuals with complex medical needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and dignity at all times. You will play a key role in administering medications, monitoring health conditions, leading the care team, and maintaining high standards of clinical practice.

Main duties of the job

Job Description: Clinical Care & Patient Support

  • Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care in line with clinical policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Monitor and assess patients’ health conditions, responding to any changes or concerns promptly.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to NMC and organizational protocols.
  • Provide specialist care for patients with Diabetes, PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) feeding, and Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI).
  • Support patients with neurological conditions, dementia, and mobility impairments.
  • Assist with wound care, continence management, and pain relief strategies.
  • Respond effectively to medical emergencies, providing immediate intervention where necessary.

Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Lead and supervise healthcare assistants and support staff to ensure high standards of care.

Compliance & Record-Keeping

  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date patient records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Adhere to CQC (Care Quality Commission) standards and NMC professional guidelines.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external healthcare professionals to provide holistic patient care.
  • Conduct effective shift handovers, ensuring continuity of care.
  • Offer emotional support and guidance to patients and their families, fostering trust and reassurance.

  • Excellent clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure, particularly in emergency situations.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered, and committed to delivering high-quality care.

Desirable

  • Experience in elderly care, dementia care, or palliative care.
  • Training in advanced wound care, catheter care, or ventilator support.
  • Previous experience leading a healthcare team.
  • Experience in managing patients with Diabetes, PEG feeding, Acquired Brain Injuries (ABI), and neurological conditions.
