We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic person to join our team as a Senior Healthcare Assistant, working in community-based Health Centres. You should have genuine compassion and care for people and are keen to develop your skills, previous experience in care is desirable however not essential as full support and training will be offered.

Main duties of the job

As our Healthcare Assistant, you will be providing the best patient care while assisting our Sonographers as they carry out ultrasound scanning procedures to our NHS patients.

You will need to have a driving licence and access to a car to be able to transport the portable ultrasound equipment from practice to practice. To ensure the ultrasound equipment is at the right location for the next clinic, you will be able to claim non-taxable business mileage, paid at our standard rate.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

  • To be responsible for transporting the portable ultrasound scanner and equipment from practice to practice as required ready for the start of the clinical session. A car is essential for this role.
  • To carry out patient care duties and to assist Sonographers and act as a Chaperone during the clinics, including use of IT equipment
  • Providing aftercare for patients following scanning procedures
  • To assist the sonographer in cleaning requirements as required
  • Ensure that clinic rooms are clean and put back to how the room was at the start of the clinic
  • To adhere to company policy and procedures in terms of health and safety, data protection and confidentiality.
  • To maintain an inventory of clinical disposables and replenish as required in conjunction with Clinic Manager.
  • To manage consumables level within the region and place orders with the suppliers as needed.
  • To support with second stage interviews of new candidates.
  • To support new recruits with training on systems and clinic policies.

  • Ability to work as part of a small, focused team
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • The ability to plan and prioritise work.
  • Good IT skills
  • Eligibility to reside and work in the UK
