Job summary

The purpose of the role is to assist the clinical team in the service and delivery of the care management of the practice population. The post holder works under indirect supervision of the clinical team and undertakes task and duties delegated by the clinical team or a suitably qualified regulated professional. They will work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, following policy and procedures.

Part-Time – 22.5 weekly hour = £15,362 per annum

Main duties of the job

Clinical skills health and well-being

To provide high quality patient care and treatment.

Urinalysis and preparation of specimens for investigation by the pathology laboratory

1. Perform new patient health checks, NHS health checks

2. Assist with the annual LTAR management

3. Assist with QOF system

4. Provide injections in line with competencies

5. Assist with the annual Flu programme

6. Provide home visit for housebound patients

7. Measuring and recording following physiological measurements in routine Presentations:

Blood pressure

Pulse rate and rhythm

Temperature

Height and weight – body mass index

Visual acuity

Venepuncture

Smoking cessation

ECG

About us

We are a large practice with a patient list size of circa 15,400. We are a Partnership of 6, with 9 Salaried GPs, a nursing team of 5, an experienced managerial team of 7 (Business and Finance Manager, Deputy Practice Manager, Patient Services Managers, Medicines Managers) and a friendly group of administrative and reception staff. We are a training as well as a learning practice and regularly have 6 Specialist Trainees, a Foundation Year 2 doctor and undergraduate students based here. We also offer learning opportunities to other grades and have a large apprenticeship programme operating for clinical, managerial and administrative staff. We are active in our local, supportive, Primary Care Network and have excellent relationships with external stakeholders.
