We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the Primary Care team at HMP Altcourse, a category B prison located in the Fazakerley area of Liverpool.

This is a crucial role within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients, and delivering outstanding care.   Hours:   This is a full time role, 37.5 hours per week, and you will work on rotational shifts, including nights and weekends. Shift patterns are: 7am – 8pm 8am – 9pm 9am – 10pm  7.30pm – 7.30am   Salary: This position is full time , youll receive an annual salary up to £27,195 per annum – depending on experience.   How will we support you?

Main duties of the job

As our new Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:

• Provide outstanding quality based care to all patients
• Deliver personalised, non judgemental care, based on patient feedback
• Contribute to, and implement care packages, assist with health promotion, wellbeing and clinics
• Support the nursing and pharmacy teams in primary care on the wings and healthcare centres

• Hold a NVQ Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care, or equivalent
• Have a non-judgemental and compassionate approach

• Although not essential, a Driving License and your own vehicle would be beneficial due to the location of the site
