Ward 1A Frailty is looking to recruit a motivated Healthcare Assistant in a part time (23 hours per week) permanent position. We are a 72hour turnaround 12 bedded Acute integrated frailty unit with an additional Geriatric same day emergency care service Mon to Sun 07:30 – 20:00 .

Main duties of the job

Healthcare Assistant – 1A Frailty

Permanent

Part time 23 hours per week – Including weekends, No Night shifts

Working within the Geriatric same day emergency care unit alongside a nurse clinician, registered nurse and a discharge co-ordinator to maintain flow from the emergency department and facilitating safe and early discharges to the community

Duties will include but not limited to

Recording observations including lying & standing blood pressure
Blood glucose monitoring
Venepuncture and cannulation
Collecting patients from ED
Escorting patients for investigations
ECG recording
Simple dressings
Supporting patients with elimination, hygiene and pressure area care
Ensuring equipment is cleaned maintained and general environment is hazard free & well stocked
