About the Job:
Main duties of the job
- Ensure pathological samples for investigation are collected and dispatched to the lab efficiently and appropriately.
- Undertaking clinical measurements and tasks ensuring these are recorded accurately and appropriately in the clinical records. With appropriate training and competency these will include:
- Phlebotomy
- Urine testing
- ECGs
- BP/ Pulse, Rhythm/ Height, Weight, BMI
- ABPM/ Cardiac event monitoring
- NHS Health Checks
- Flu/ Pneumonia and other adult vaccinations
- B12 Injections
- Clip/suture removal
- Basic wound care using approved dressings from the wound formulary
- To act as a chaperone for other clinicians
- Have a basic understanding of long term conditions including diagnostic interventions, treatments and the principles of care and self-management
