We are looking for an enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant to join our friendly nursing team at Avicenna Medical Practice.

Previous experience is essential however further training will be offered to the right candidate. Ideally qualified to Level 3 minimum. Must have Phlebotomy certificate.
The role is 25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The successful candidate must cover General Practice HCA duties delivering the highest level of care and assistance.
Stock levels are maintained by ordering, rotation and sorting deliveries.
Completion of cleanliness, infection prevention control measures and health and safety requirement of the role.
Doctors are supported in their clinics.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all patients.
We are a family friendly practice who are very team supportive and deliver high quality care to our diverse and deprived group of approximately 8900 patients. Our team consists of 2 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GP, 6 Advanced Practitioners from a variety of backgrounds,2 Practice Nurses, 2 HCA, a management team and clerical team. We are also a training practice for Trainee Nurses.
We are consistently high QOF achievers, CQC Good (April 2022), Investors in People Gold Award achievers (December 2022) and participate in numerous Enhanced Services including Anticoagulation, Diabetes, Ultrasound services, Sexual Health and Dermatology.

Job Summary:
Working under the direct supervision of the Senior Practice Nurse and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the Healthcare Assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care.
Duties and Responsibilities:
New patient health checks
Flu vaccines and B12 injections
Phlebotomy
Blood Pressure checks
SMI checks
Recall management
ECG
Spirometry
24 hour BP
Chaperoning duties
Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs – Nurses
Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment
Vaccine – cold chain storage and monitoring
Associated Administration for HCA workload
Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual
Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being
