An exciting position has arisen for a Health Care Assistant to support the clinics in the Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology. These posts rarely become available within the Centre. This position is for 19 hours per week.

The NHS has seen many changes in the last 3 years and as a department we have needed to adapt to ensure our patients are still cared for while maintaining safety for ourselves and colleagues. If you feel you have the flexibility and ability to adapt to a rapidly changing NHS you may be the ideal person for this post.

This is a small but friendly team that has a family atmosphere to work together for a common goal.

The Health care assistant in the Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology is a central role that is one of the most prominent a visible within the Centre. The role requires that you will support the multi-disciplinary team with helping to maintain the Diabetes and Endocrine outpatient services. This role requires a friendly approachable person who can help people feel at ease quickly.

Main duties of the job

Responsibilities include performing clinical observations including near patient blood glucose / ketone testing, and also, venepuncture on a day to day basis following trust protocols and procedures.

Being a point of contact for service users and providing basic advice on services available within the centre.

Monitoring clinics and ensuring that they are running smoothly and keeping patients informed during visits regarding their care.

Someone who is flexible with a positive outlook and upholds the values and beliefs of the trust will excel in this role.
