About the Job:
Urinalysis
– Measurement of blood pressure, temperature and pulse
– Routine blood tests
– Peak flow measurements
– New patient health checks
– NHS Health Checks
– Part One of Diabetic Checks
-Hypertension monitoring and other long-term conditions – Venepuncture
– MMSE tests
– Performing ECG’s Other Responsibilities will include:
– Recognising changes in patients’ observations which must be reported and acted on. – To assist clinicians in emergency management of patients.
– Enable patients to access appropriate professionals in the practice team.
– Act as a chaperone.
– Provide relevant health promotion literature to the patient.
– Maintain clinical equipment efficiently.
– Instruct patients in appropriate techniques for medical equipment
– Interact with patients and colleagues in a professional manner. This job description is not exhaustive, and the Health Care Assistant may be requested to take on additional duties required by the practice.
